The ultimate source of positive energy
In my last post I talked about the ways to cope with depression. The cure of depression is through happiness. Look at your 7-years old nephew, how happy he is. He may have a short sleep at night, but happiness and energy can be felt from his voice and movements. Where do this energy and happiness come from? This little cute creature eats same food as you and me and may even eat less than us, but where do these huge amounts of energy come from? Hold on a second I’ll tell you (;
Kids at younger ages gain energy by spending their own energy. Is it strange? I don’t think so. When he jumps up and down, he gains happiness by consuming his own physical energy. And this happiness is like a fuel for him to use it again.
Let’s go deeper. Have you ever looked at 1-year old kids? They can attain energy by doing almost nothing but watching their surroundings and touching anything they find. If you have noticed, you will understand that children absorb live energy by spending their physical energy. They exactly know what to do to gain happiness and so they do it immediately. And with all this happiness it is obvious that they can’t stay calm and inactive in one place. And well, they definitely start moving and do what they like.
But what do we (the adults) do? Some of us bow to the person who we can’t even tolerate when he enters the room. Someone who we dislike him is talking nad we stay and listen to him and we accept the torture. Or sometimes we don’t have enough time to stay and listen to all that useless speeches, but we still consider it as a way of respecting and bothering ourselves. When we encounter someone who is a bully and he takes aggressive actions toward us we even don’t say even a word. That being said by these ways we spend our energy and instead of gaining happiness and stimulation, we receive destructive feelings and absolute minus energy. We give all this physical energy and don’t attain happiness!
So it means we are doing something that we don’t like or even hate and by this we are just gaining blue feelings instead of happiness. And the funny point is that we even tell our children what is right and what is wrong!
As it said it is natural that we don’t tend to spend more energy because spending it in our definition is equal to getting depressed. And we don’t get the fuel. But remember there are some people among adults who do what they like and enjoy. They may sleep only 3 or 4 hours at night, but when they wake up they do their favorites. Those favorites will bring more happiness and they won’t need praising and encouragement. It means they don’t need anybody to give them energy since they themselves are the best source of happiness.
