Creativity is an important business skill

What is creativity? Creativity is the act of turning your new thoughts and imaginations into reality. Creativity has got two processes: first you should think and then producing will be the next step.

Innovation is implementation. People who have ideas but don’t work on them in order to bring them into reality are considered imaginative but not creative.

Creativity has always been an important business skill, but in this turbulent economy it is essential. It’s not just what a few talented people have. We all are creative. It is highly likely that your creativity has been shrunken by social norms and life experiences, but it can be propagated and revived. You may not even think you are creative, but that’s not true. Creativity is our birth right. It is part of what makes us human.

Most of us were very creative when we were children. As we grew up, many lost the ability to come up with fresh and innovative ideas. No matter what jobs we currently have, we need the ability to be creative, to find new and better ways of doing things.

Creativity – it’s not just for artists!

It will only take you some time and effort like learning any other skills. For example if you want to be more creative in your business you need to learn the business literature about creativity. You should learn about the creative process, hiring some consultants may help for the first step. For being a creative person and reviving your creativity you have to read books. There are a bunch of books in which you can find practical techniques about reviving creativity.

Some of the techniques that can be used to improve creativity include brainstorming, mind-mapping, various forms of hypnosis and meditation, and guided imagery.

The techniques that have been developed to try to enhance creativity all have one thing in common. They are all trying to bypass the inner “judge” or “critic” we have in our minds. Most of us have an inner voice that comments about everything we think and do. We might rarely notice that inner voice, yet it has a great impact and influence on what we can accomplish or gain in our life. It means if we don’t control it, it can cause us to lose our creativity. In many of us this inner voice is usually very negative. Regardless of what we think and what we do, this inner voice is running like a tape in the background of our minds, criticizing our ideas, our performance, and our ability to be successful.

Sometimes this inner thing is not just a voice. Sometimes we see some images of ourselves failing. When something new enters in our mind this inner voice may say” that’s stupid”.

So as we see, it is criticizing us. We can’t be creative and critical at the same time because these two need different kinds of thinking. So for being creative you should stop criticizing yourself. When something new enters your mind it means it’s time for you to be creative and you should get rid of that inner critic.

Creativity is not noticed in schools . In Art pictures are meant to look like photos , in English you worry so much about spelling and punctuation imagination is not used in story writing and in music a teacher notices that a child can play a musical instrument but he does not notice that a child will be a music writer ………. A powerfull imagination is a gift and cannot be aquired or noticed from a school education .
